Overshadowed Theatrical Productions was founded in 2004 for the purpose of bringing family friendly live theatrical experiences to audiences in a way that would be pleasing to God, edifying and inspiring to the saints, and reaching the lost for Christ. 

We believe all of our talents and abilities are a gift from God and are expected to be used the best of our ability for His glory.  As the Theater industry became increasingly worldly over the years believers had migrated away from the arts for other avenues of entertainment.  This left people with less opportunity to exercise their God given talents and develop them to their maximum potential.  It also ensured that the Theater industry would continue to be an entertainment avenue closed for believers on the performing side and unhealthy for believers on the audience side. 

God placed a dream inside Reba Hervas to change that paradigm.  She knew deep down that, if done correctly, theater can be done in a way that pleases God.  It can provide a place for both young and old alike to use those tremendous talents to bring edifying stories to audiences that desperately need to hear them.  The Church did not need to abandon this avenue of reaching people but to revolutionize it!  To take it back!  And that is what Overshadowed did!

Since 2004 Overshadowed has proven that professional theater in a God pleasing way is not only possible but critical in the development of people and our communities themselves.  Hundreds of lives have been changed over years both on and off stage and with God’s blessings we hope to see hundreds more follow suit. 

Overshadowed is pleased to have our relationship with Schaumberg Christian School.  SCS is in fact a large part of our story since Overshadowed, at it roots, began there.  Reba was very influential is the fine arts and drama programs of the school and church for many years before expanding to the broader scope creating Overshadowed.  It’s been wonderful to see many past SCS students grow and migrate into leadership roles around the country continuing to show just how great our God is!
