International Students

Thank you for your interest in studying at Schaumburg Christian School! This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant students. The faculty and staff welcomes you and looks forward to assisting you during your educational experience at Schaumburg Christian School. In order to help you with the process and answer some of your questions, we have prepared this website, which covers practical items such as obtaining a Visa, finances, housing, safety and more. We encourage all new students and their families to read this website in its entirety.

Application Process

Schaumburg Christian School accepts applications throughout the year and admits students for entrance any time space is available.

To apply for admission, please contact the school office and ask to speak to the school registrar.

We also require:

  • Signed Statement of Cooperation

  • $430 non-refundable application fee (This includes the I-20 Processing Fee and the Registration and Curriculum fees.)

  • Completed Emergency Treatment Form (this is done electronically)

  • Copy of student’s birth certificate or passport

  • Required health forms for school physical, sports physical, eye examination and dental examination (View the School Health Requirements on the Resources Health page)

  • Immunization records

  • Transcripts, standardized test scores, and a summary of your completed courses translated into English. The Release of Records Form must be delivered to your current school for completion. All standardized test scores in your records must be included with the transcripts.

  • Interview with Host/Guardian family.

On acceptance, the application reserves space in the school. The I-20 application form for a student visa to enter the United States is sent by Schaumburg Christian School when a student is accepted and has paid the $430 non-refundable I-20 processing fee and registration and curriculum fees.

American customs and culture may be very different in the United States from those to which you are accustomed. Prepare yourself for these differences by securing information at the closest US Embassy or Information Service. You may also benefit from talking with persons in your home country who have studied here.

Arrival Process

This section of the website includes information that details how to obtain a Visa, instructions on entering the U.S., and a checklist of pre-arrival reminders.

The Schaumburg Christian School Registrar is responsible for the general welfare of global students at SCS. Our staff assists with problems concerning your immigration and social or personal adjustment to academic life in the United States.

It is very important that all students and their sponsors attend their scheduled orientation as part of immigration "registration." Information regarding the orientation meeting can be found on this website or by contacting:

Remember to bring your passport and other immigration documents with you to the orientation meeting: visa stamp, I-20 and I-94 card. If you miss the official orientation meeting, it is your responsibility to report to Karen Bustamante to register your immigration documents.
