By offering an academic speech class, students have the chance to refine their speaking abilities and are given opportunities throughout the year to put into practice those things they have learned. Each spring our high school students produce a play or musical. In addition, students in junior high and senior high can compete in the area of speech in the annual Illinois Association of Christian Schools Academic and Fine Arts Tournament. Our students have excelled in this area each year producing state champions in both junior high and senior high.
Meet our Speech/Theater Director
Hi! My name is C.J. McElhiney, and I am the speech and drama teacher at Schaumburg Christian School. I am so excited for this new school year to get underway, and I cannot wait to work with your students in class, rehearsals, and lessons to help them develop their God-given talents. Ultimately, our creativity is an opportunity to reflect the creativity of our God, and it is my desire to work personally with each student to help them grow spiritually, academically, and personally through the mediums of speech and drama.
